Summary
Placing an ad
This site provides leading technology in its search engine. Following are a few tips to help you take full advantage of this.
Nominate an Industry for each ad
This site is the only site within Australia to separate industry and profession.
This site allows you to nominate the industry relevant to each advertised position. An industry is the aggregate of a variety of enterprises in a particular field. It is often named after its principal product eg Travel, Media, Finance, Wine, etc.
Within the Media industry, there are several professions which may be engaged within it .eg Sales, Advertising, Accounting etc.
Nominating an ‘Industry’ when placing an ad gives your job a better chance of finding a relevant candidate.
Nominate up to 3 professions for each ad
This site allows you the opportunity to categorise your role by up to three professions.
For instance, if you are advertising for a Secretary within a Legal Firm, you can choose a role from the legal profession (legal secretary), administration profession (secretary) and accounting profession (accounts payable).
Or
If you are advertising for a CFO, you could elect both the Accounting Profession (CFO) and the Executive Management profession (CFO).
The more accurate you are in nominating this type of data accurately AND comprehensively in your ad, the greater your chances will be of attracting the right candidate.
Tag your ad
Tags are words that you can use to supplement the copy within the body of your ad. They do not appear in the body of the ad, but are searchable by candidates. You can use as many tag words as you desire for each ad. Just enter each tag (word or phrase) followed by a comma.
Advertisers tag jobs so that they increase the ability for suitable candidates to find them. For example, if they are listing a Chief Financial Officer, they may also ‘tag’ it as:
- National Finance Director;
- VP Finance;
- Group Financial Controller;
- etc.
By tagging the job ad with each of the above tags, it will present itself to a wider body of suitable candidates. It will now be included in search results despite the candidate not including ‘Chief Financial Officer’ in their search criteria. However, by virtue of the similarity of the role, the candidate will still be relevant.
Candidates can also include the tags created by advertisers to further refine their search. By including in their search, the various tags that the advertiser has linked to a job, they will find more jobs that may be relevant.
